The Harbwr – Specialist Provision at Neyland Community School
The Harbwr is Neyland Community School's specialist provision, offering a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for children with additional learning needs. We understand that every child is unique, and we take pride in getting to know each learner as an individual - their strengths, interests, challenges and potential.
Our work is guided by the Welsh Additional Learning Needs (ALN) framework, with every child supported through a personalised Individual Development Plan (IDP). We work closely with parents, carers and external professionals to ensure provision is carefully matched to each child's needs. Wherever appropriate, we support children to take part in mainstream school life, helping them feel included, valued and confident within the wider school community.
Our Core 12
At Neyland Community School, our Core 12 sets out the key routines, behaviours and learning habits that we expect to see every day. They provide a clear and consistent approach across the whole school, helping every child to feel ready, safe and respected and to make the most of every learning opportunity.
From warm relationships and Fantastic Walking to active learning, high expectations, effective feedback and STAR sitting, the Core 12 helps pupils understand what successful learning looks and feels like. By explicitly teaching, practising and reinforcing these routines, we aim to create calm, purposeful classrooms where all children can Dream Big, Work Hard and succeed.
