The Harbwr - Social
Developing positive relationships and social skills is a central part of The Harbwr's provision. Many children benefit from additional support to understand social situations, build friendships and communicate with others, and we provide a calm, supportive environment to help them do so.
Social development is supported through:
- Relationship-based play, which helps children build trust, communication and shared enjoyment
- Small-group activities that focus on turn-taking, cooperation and problem-solving
- Supported opportunities to interact with mainstream peers, encouraging inclusion and a sense of belonging
Staff model positive interactions and support children to develop confidence in social situations, celebrating small steps and successes along the way. These experiences help children feel secure, valued and part of the wider school community.
